On 6th September 2023 the Global eCooking Coalition (GeCCo) was endorsed at the African Climate Summit in Nairobi. Representatives of EnDev, GEAPP, MECS and SEforALL spoke on the relevance of the project to an excellent turn out. Joseph Ng’ang’a, Vice President for Africa at GEAPP and CEO of the African Climate Summit endorsed the GeCCo objectives to enable a mass transition to eCooking solutions. Our speakers- Dr Brian Isabirye Commissioner of Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development Uganda, Dr Eng. Joseph Siror Managing Director of KPLC and Mr Paul Mbuthi Senior Deputy Director of Renewable Energy at Ministry of Energy Kenya- explained how they are working with this newly formed coalition to undertake the massive task ahead, to join up utilities, Ministries and GeCCo’s collective partners to support the global transition to electric cooking.
