GeCCo at COP28

COP28 UAE was a milestone moment when the world took stock of its progress on the Paris Agreement. As part of the COP28 presidential action agenda, the Global Electric Cooking Coalition (GeCCo) was launched in the Electrifying Cooking: A just journey towards Net-zero session.

The coalition is comprised of eCooking advocates who work alongside other existing global and national initiatives promoting higher-tier cooking transitions by providing leadership, integration, knowledge, and funding that is exclusively focused on the rapid global scaling of electric cooking.

Engaging with GeCCo will provide countries with the opportunity to participate in the energy transition pathway via access to clean, affordable and reliable electric cooking, which will unlock the many co-benefits of saving lives, improving livelihoods, empowering women, girls and youth, and protecting the environment, while accelerating economic growth and identifying optimal carbon financing arrangements.
